How to compare building material prices in Georgia (the country)
The same building material can cost a different amount from one store to the next in Georgia. RECOUNT.GE lets you compare prices from Gorgia, Domino, Nova, Citadeli, Modus and other stores on one page.
Is there one website that shows prices from all the stores?
Yes. RECOUNT.GE is a digital commerce platform for building and renovation materials in Georgia, the country in the Caucasus. It brings together 62,025 products from 80 stores and suppliers, so you do not have to open each store's website. Comparing prices is free and needs no account. The site is in Georgian, and prices are in Georgian lari (₾).
Which stores does it cover?
They include Gorgia, Domino, Citadeli, Modus, Mihouse, Nova, Goodbuild and Bautech. The full list is on the suppliers page.
How to compare prices
- Search for a product by name or choose a category.
- Open the product: prices for the same product appear by store on one page.
- Compare the prices and check whether the product is in stock.
- For the wider market, see the price index, for example for cement and rebar.
Can I buy on the site as well?
Products from partner stores can be bought with one cart and one payment, even from several stores, and you choose from several delivery offers. At checkout the amount is only held on your card. It is charged after a sales agent confirms stock with the supplier and the order is handed to delivery. If an item is out of stock, the hold is released. Products from other stores are shown for price comparison only.
What to check besides the price
- Pack size: a 25 kg bag and a 40 kg bag are not directly comparable, so work out the price per kilogram.
- Unit: a price may be per piece, per square metre, per bar or per tonne.
- Delivery: for heavy or bulky materials, the delivery cost can cancel out the price difference.
- Current price: prices change, so check again before you order.
Other ways to check prices
- Store websites: accurate for one store, but you have to open each one to compare.
- Marketplaces such as mymarket.ge: bring sellers' listings together, though prices from the big chains may not be there.
- Geostat: publishes a price index that shows the market trend, not the price at a particular store.
